On Sharing Your Sweet Hearts...

Each time I get a rung higher on the ladder of years, the view expands and my perspective of beauty and adventure seems to grow.

I look around at the world through lenses of love, and can see that pouring into others is a true expression of the person that God created me to be.  Writing these love notes to you each week is the closest I have ever come to having a band of sisters to be a part of, and while it feels like SUCH an amazing gift - I know that eventually, it could morph into something quite different from how it looks now.

(Not going anywhere just yet, but you know I love to dream about the next best things!)

Trying to make sure that my head and heart are on the same page because they deserve to be prepared for whatever else is next in store.  Instead of sharing buckets of words with you today, I’m going to request one BIG favor as a leeeeetle birthday gift:
If you could ask a big sister or mama or mentor just one thing today… What would it be?

(Please play along -- I’d love to get to know your own sweet heart a little more!)
I may not know exactly how you feel, but I know what it’s like to have emotions like tidal waves.

I may not have the most poised answers, but I know that holding out for the heartfelt can deliver big blessings.

I may not be a fairy godmother, but will happily pile generous helpings of grace on that pretty little plate of yours.

I may not be the bravest soul, but I’m a big fan of flooring it past fear.

I’m certainly nowhere NEAR perfect, but I believe that confidence comes from truth, and I know with all my heart that you were created to go out into the world and do great things. ;)

On Finding Confidence in Truth...

After consuming gluttonously large piles of confidence-related material over the past several months, it has only made my appetite more difficult to satisfy.

(NOT a new sensation for me, folks… I can out-eat most of the grown men that I know.)

The study of self-assuredness has pulled me in like the juicy lead of that perfect mystery novel, and I became hooked after realizing that it’s truly at the center of what I’m passionate about accomplishing through Pepperologie - Helping women feel like the best possible version of themselves is something that I feel called to do from my very core.

Each time I get asked about how I define confidence and how we can go about engaging with it most earnestly, I seem to learn a little bit more through trying to cook up my best answers...

At this moment, I believe that it boils down to one main concept:

The feeling + expression of confidence comes from finding + embracing your truth.  [Fist bump me with a Tweet!]

Getting pretty excited to explore it a bit more with you here, but in the meantime, I’m trying to take my own words to heart by letting my own truth be the vision that guides my every step.

Constantly humbled that you continue to let me give little glimpses of the journey with you here and there, and would love to know your thoughts on confidence if you’re willing to share them with me this week!

Are there any radiant moments or words or people or lip colors orsnacks in your life that always make you feel like the best possible version of you?

Hit reply, and of course - your secrets are always safe with me. ;)

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

Ps. - Speaking of scooting along with certainty, I’m positively over-the-moon about how we’re celebrating Style & Pepper’s 5th Birthday on Saturday… I’m hosting a live Virtual Picnic for fellow online influencers (or anyone else who is curious about how I’ve turned my blog into a profitable business), and you can find out how to join us right here.

SPOILER: There WILL be a juicy Q+A session at the end, and I WILL be handing out party favors!

On Avoiding Tomatoes & Ducking Doubt...

Currently standing on the proverbial stage of my mind, wondering how the dang hecklers got so loud this week.

These Pepper Letters are definitely not supposed to feel like a gripe-fest, but I DO feel like we can be honest with each other here - and I am so grateful for that, my little Pepitas.

Really too embarrassed to even utter - much less actually transcribe - some of the self-criticism that has been clattering around in my head for the past few days...

Do you ever have those moments?

(Praying you’ll say no, but predicting that the answers might be a bit disheartening.)

A real performer would tell me to ignore the occasional rotten tomato being thrown from the crowd, but when one finally manages to splatter across my face... I find it tough to pretend like I don’t feel the sting.

My own method of pressing on involves trying to encourage others at every turn, and embracing the things that I know to be true.

Seeking out our clearest sources of confidence can stave off even the most disparaging doubts.

[Tweet it!]

Over the past few months, I have been learning quite a lot by asking dear friends AND strangers to answer the following question:

What is something that makes you feel most confident?

The answer almost always reflects a personal victory or honest appraisal of their best characteristics (YES!), and not only do I feel blessed to find out more about their sweet souls, but am excited to use this “research” to continue encouraging discussion about something that we can so easily forget.

Now, I’m going to tell you something that would make me BURST with happiness…

I would love to know what makes YOU feel most confident, and you can share your own answer to the question above by simply replying to this message or commenting below.  I can’t tell you how much I treasure the responses that I get from you each week, and am already feeling better because you let me share these candid words and a little snippet of my life with you here today.

Blessed By Your Precious Hearts,

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

Ps. - Speaking of “candid words" (because I've never been very good at editing): You may have seen me mention what I WAS planning to give up for Lent this year, but it only took about sevenpointfourtwofive seconds to realize that my words couldn’t go without hugs for that long.

(Lord knows that I try to give my words whatever they need… And THAT, my friends, is how you end up with a weekly love letter.)
