On Feeling Grateful for my Pepper Girls...

Tupperware (and tummies!) loaded with leftovers.

Inboxes stuffed to the BRIM with bargains.

Anyone else feeling full of so many things today?

My own love-tank is overflowing from lots of quality time and cuddles over the past few days, and our cozy home is being decked for the holidays as we speak...

But before I get back to the twinkle lights and tinsel, here's what I REALLY popped in to tell you today:

I could not have done this year without you, Darling.

The chance to write from my heart and share hugs through the screen has continued to bless me, week after week.

I'm very thankful for so many things, but the fact that you open these notes and read my words is something that makes my heart skip two beats.

Watching this tribe grow from just one little sister to a full fledged family is something that still feels so especially surreal, and I can't wait to uncover the best bits waiting for us up ahead!

Until then -- I'll trust that you can feel the the warmth of this thank you from the bottom of my very-full heart, and I pray that you know how much the gift of your presence truly means to me!

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

On Finding Your Golden Comb...

Sweet Rubi chops my hair like a champ, and I’m convinced it’s because she’s got a magic wand up that stylish little sleeve of hers.

Since my last several styles have been the product of her own artful handiwork, I’ve sworn that no one else should ever come near my head with a set of scissors ever again.  She always seems to turn my untamed mane into something that punctuates the way that I express my personal style, and can't we all just agree that a good hair cut is like the silky smooth icing on a perfectly frosted cake?

While I know that her brilliant aesthetic and extensive experience play a major part in such dazzling work, I have a hunch that the shiny golden comb she uses as her signature tool doesn’t hurt.

Besides that magic wand, though...

>  She knows how to use JUST the right fringe to compliment any face.
>  Her creative projects inspire me to push forward in my own pursuits.
>  She listens to a LOT of ladies each week, but those wise chocolate eyes always make me feel like she holds my words amidst a special place in her tender heart. (Quite possibly the best skill of them all, no?)

I truly believe that she sees nothing but beauty beneath layers of locks, and when you combine all these things with a comb that literally glints in the light with every swipe? It makes sitting in her chair feel less about looking good and more about watching a dear friend do what she loves best.

(In my world, we call this a trip to Beauty Parlor Heaven.)

Her flair for what she does, that extra-special something that is added to every encounter... It is far beyond what I see most people infuse into their everyday work.  This lady is truly in love with her craft, and I love letting her sprinkle that passion into my pixie whenever I can.

Not only has her signature skill inspired me to find an actual golden comb to keep in mybeauty cabinet at home (maybe it holds a little magic of it’s own?), but now I'm convinced that having a trademark tool is a great way to symbolize the special brilliance that spreads throughout whatever you do.

I’m in a brainstorm-y mood (look-out universe!), so play along by telling me what you do each day and I’d love to help you come up with a magic wand of your very own.  You know I love chit-chatting with you here, sweet sisters...  Just hit reply and we’ll come up with something special together!

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

Ps. - Your responses to last week’s question are SO precious and I’ve been working on an individual (video!) response to every single one. How fun is that?! Stay tuned if you're still waiting for yours, and as always - hearing what is on your heart feels like SUCH a big blessing every week. :)

P.Ps. - More of a hairbrush kind of gal? I'd never leave you behind! Happy detangling!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT // This sneaky sweater set will blow your mind, never thought I'd be eating apples three ways at once, little old me on Taxi TV, and Broadway's latest musical: Jessie and the Amazing Monochromatic Dreamcoat.

On Gushing With Grand Plans...

I know a girl always gushing with grand plans.

She spews daydreams like sunshine and ideas puddle at her feet until they evaporate in the sun. Her heart is always looking for ways to create, connect, and contribute to the world, and while it may feel overwhelming to some - I find it simply magical to be around.

Finding a place to hash out our splashy thoughts can feel like trying to collect rainwater in a sieve, but I LIVE for being a bucket that catches the best bits until you’re ready to dive in.

If you have ever wished that even a tiny droplet of your dreams needed a safe place to land, I’m hoping you’ll believe me when I say that I want to be YOUR bucket, my dear.

Working on a very special real-time version of bringing these Pepper Letters to life, and would be so honored to have you help by sharing your grand plans with me right here!

Hit reply and spill a few sentences about what's going on in that sweet heart of yours, and I can't wait to hear how we can conquer those great things together. ;)

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

Ps. - Did you catch the latest over on the blog this week? Talked about deep plum and dramatic lashes and a delightful giveaway on S&P!

On Styleability & Surprises...

TEN tops on the floor, and a bedside chair wearing enough skirts to clothe a troupe of Rockettes.

Lipstick tubes marching like tiny-shiny soldiers (Reporting for duty!) and an arsenal of jewelry strewn across the bathroom counter.

Rushing around to get ready and focusing SO much on pulling myself together that the important things (like coffee and kisses) are left cold in the kitchen while I zip out the door.

If you can keep a secret, I’ll come clean and admit: Even Style Experts run into their own hang-ups from time to time, and this dreadful scene DOES play out in my closet on eventual occasion... Please tell me I'm not the only one with denim draped over the back of the door?

Expressing ourselves by clothing our bodies can have such an incredible impact on our day-to-day confidence, and yet - it’s also a great big purply-plaid point of contention for nearly every woman I know.

(Tough to do well, but miraculous when it’s mastered.)

I started my business as a personal stylist four years ago, and am still a little amazed when I see that even the most elegant women struggle with the same thing from time to time. We all have doubts and downfalls and desires to be the best versions of ourselves, and there is a LOT of pressure from the world to do life with a perfectly polished set of fingernails the entire time.

The good news is: we are fluid creatures.  The ability to edit and change and grow and flourish are all at our fingertips, and watching a woman transform her slumped shoulders into a sassy swish across the bedroom floor will show you that anything is possible in a matter of minutes.

There are certainly days when I miss the profoundly special moments of being a personal stylist, but I also love the chance to watch the magic happen from the sidelines as Hilary walks her girls through the steps to discover their own creative cocktail of clothing.

Y’all, I feel so lucky to get a lot of face time (the real-life kind!) with this chica, and can’t even tell you what a jolt of goodness you can expect from her at every single turn.

That same proud-sister feeling that I get when YOU go out and do great things is swelling to the ceiling as she presents something that enhances the lives of so many women, and I sincerely hope that you'll watch with me so that we can see the daily expression of ourselves become more effortless and enlightened together!

With a Bit of Borrowed Grace & Gumption,

XOXO - Jessie Pepper

Ps. - Toss on some sunnies and a sweater, and get a little pre-Fall sunshine today for me, will you??
